CHRIS SMALL
Chris Small is well known for his many murals throughout Oklahoma. Especially those found in towns along historic Route 66. El Reno, Oklahoma is home to several of Chris Small’s exquisite murals. One can start at the crossroads of America at Highways 61 and 81, or the NW corner of Sunset Drive and Choctaw Avenue on Route 66. His realistic renderings are award winning.
From The Daily Oklahoman:
"SHAWNEE — An Oklahoma City artist can thank his good fortune — and a small, realistic oil painting of a fortune cookie in a clear plastic package — for helping him win the top cash prize in the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition Biennial IX Exhibit.
Chris Small won the $2,000 Best of Show award for "The Love of Your Life is Already …,” a close-up of the fortune cookie package casting its delicate shadow on the neutral, sky blue-gray background, like a harbinger of romance on the horizon.
The show of two-dimensional works, by 29 Oklahoma artists, including Small's oil, is on view in the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art at St. Gregory's University."
