Gallery Grazioso
The Gallery
The building was built in 1902 by the Pabst Milwaukee Brewing Company. The main floor of the building has such a perfect view from the street, that some local shop owners convinced Good to participate in the semiannual art walk even though it was empty. He then tapped his friend Oklahoma artist Bert Seabourn to ask if he would display his art for this event. After seeing the magical way the artwork merged with the historical feel of the building Good decided to transform the space into an art gallery. Searching for the right name, Good wanted something that embraced not only his family's musical legacy but also his Italian roots. The word Grazioso is an Italian musical term describing how a composer wishes a certain part of a composition to be played. The definition of Grazioso is "with elegance and grace". Inside Gallery Grazioso, visitors will find fine art by many local and national artists as well as a room full of signed, framed photos of dozens of the famous musicians the Goods have worked with throughout the years. |
Gary Good, owner of Gallery Grazioso, is an entrepreneur who, during the past few years, has been buying into the allure of historic downtown Guthrie, Oklahoma.
He bought the building in 2006 and began to imagine what kind of business would best suit the history it encompassed. Gary Good is the son of Al Good, the beloved Oklahoma bandleader. Although Al Good died in 2003, The Al Good Orchestra he founded still plays on, managed and booked by son Gary. |
The art of painters Reian Williams, David Canavesio, Joy Richardson, singer Tony Bennett, Meg Carlile, Kelly Pennington, Becky Mannschreck, Jay Holobach, Chris Small, and Daryl Price are staples in the gallery as well as signed pieces by Leroy Neiman and Peter Max.
You will also find an eclectic mix of photos and/or items signed by notables such as Will Rogers, Mickey Mantle, Paul McCartney, Mohammad Ali, REO Speedwagon and others.
